You're probably wondering why I have a picture of a snowy garden when the title has "Spring" on it. Well let me tell you, that picture is a photo of my garden on Sunday 6th April 2008. Yes it's meant to be SPRING and yet THIS is the weather we get in England! I shouldn't be complaining really as it's now Thursday 24th April and the sun is starting to blaze through...but I just thought I'd share that with you!

Life Update

Andy came back home for a 3 week Easter holiday; since I was unable to take time off for him (since Mark, my boss, was on holiday and I’m the only one capable of covering for him) I only got to see him at the weekend. Despite seeing each other for 3 weekends we didn’t get up to much as one weekend I was ill; we mainly chilled at each others houses, took a work one day when the weather was lovely, played some games, just chilling really. I plan to hopefully visit him at uni one weekend in May or June as I haven’t seen his uni since October 2006. When he next comes home it’ll be a few days after my birthday (June 16th) and a few days before I go on holiday! Yes despite not being fully recovered from my previous trip overseas I’m off to Greece for one week in June. I’m a little frightened actually, I’m still ‘on edge’ since my last holiday and since I know that even the WATER is lethal in Greece, I’m a little anxious. I’m sure once I’m out there lying by the pool side in the glorious sun I’ll be fine but when even your mother is concerned about you going (all parents are when their child goes on holiday abroad without for the first time), you can’t help but feel more so yourself.

I saw Landa during the back holiday Easter weekend; I picked her up from her house, drove to Bluewater for a meal and some shopping. Whilst I was at her home (that I hadn’t been to in ages) I got re-acquainted with her parents. I saw her mum just before Christmas 2006 (!) but her dad I haven’t since…I can’t remember! Their English has gotten far (they’re from Yucaslavia), they both seemed well and they looked happy to see me (always a bonus - pleasing parents). At Bluewater it was quite busy (expected as it was a bank holiday), so we decided against the cinema as the queue was so freaking long! We had a nice Chinese lunch at Amoy and browsed some shops. I didn’t buy anything but Landa bought some jewellery and other random crap. We also had a coffee before I dropped her home. It's always nice to see Landa, even if our catch ups tend to be short. I plan to take her out after her exams have finished in May - maybe after that we can see each other more.

I took both Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th off in April to celebrate my mum’s birthday! Her big day was Tuesday but I took the following day off as mum and Daniel were both on Easter holidays and I wanted to spend more time with them. The evening before, Monday after work, we went into London for dinner out. After a walk looking at all the restaurants in Leister square we settled on ‘Rock Garden’. It’s quite pretentious but the food was lovely! I had sea bass with Ratatouille (which I’ve never had before) and I ate every little bit of it! The fruit drinks they provide are nice too.

On mum’s actual birthday she had a cold so didn’t feel too great, but we took a nice drive on the lovely sunny day to Faringham. It's about a 10 minute drive from my old 6th for college (North West Kent, Dartford), we has lunch at the Lion Hotel (food was ok, didn't have what I originally wanted) and then took a gentle stroll around the area 'cos the weather was lovely.

Farningham looks like a 'country side' sort fo town; there's lots of greenery, small old houses, streams and very narrow roads! It looks lively in the sushine and a perfect place to settle down since it's so homely and quiet - but I knew as soon as the weather turned icy I would be cursing whoever built those roads!

We went back home to rest *cough play computer games cough* and then went out again for dinner at the Laughing Buddha (a Chinese restaurant near where I live). We always like this restaurant but we don’t go it very often, so it was nice to come back to it.

The next day was not as easy going as we had to take care of my littlest brothers; Robert and Oliver. First we did a bit of shopping (the boys were well behaved) and then we drove to Wilmington (again near my college) for a lunch out. The food was nice (gammon and home made chips) and although the weather wasn't as nice as yesturday and the outside play area was quite scruffy and falling apart - we had a laugh. I usually don't spend much time with them apart from when they pop round to say hi with Brian, Daniel usually sees them every weekend. But I really enjoyed that day as I was able to actually feel like their sister; I played football with Robbie as Daniel ordered the food, I taught Ollie how to swing himself (I had a go myself to feed my inner child), I had more energy that day that I've had in the past year! It made a nice change. Later on we came home, me and Daniel taught the boys how to play the wii. We played Mario Kart (with the wii wheel) and Wii sports, a few tears kicked off when Robbie lost and wanted a wii for his own when he had to leave. Overall it was a good day.

What’s the status on my on-going health problems you ask? Well…

I’ve started my new diet that I mentioned in my previous blog; I’ve cut out wheat, gluten and dairy. It’s been hard, I’ve had my ups and downs but the benefits do out weigh what I’ve given up. First of; my stomach has been a LOT better, I still had my bad days/moments but I have more energy, I can do more, I don’t have to lie down as much after eating whilst before I was always in pain after eating, plus I’ve lost some weight! The bad side is that I didn’t realise so much stuff had gluten and wheat in them! Dairy was not so bad as I was originally allergic to dairy when I was about 8 so I’m used to not eating dairy by now, but the gluten…its in bread, pasta, pastry…so I can’t eat Yorkshire puddings (love them with roasts), pizza, pita bread with kebabs, burgers beer-battered or bread crumbed fish (so its a nightmare when trying to order a take away), cakes, garlic bread…so some of my favourite things! And although I’ve bought some gluten-free stuff from Sainsbury’s and Morrison’s – most of them don’t substitute the real thing. I’ll just be glad when I’m fully recovered!

As for the ‘high liver function’ I mentioned in my previous entry; I had another blood test since then and although it’s still higher than the level it should be, it’s decreased since my last reading. The doctor said it might be because some people’s livers are fattier than others; it could also be raised if I’ve gained any weight lately (which I have). He wants to keep an eye on it just in case and have another test in 6 months. Several weeks later I got a letter stating that the last test result from my blood came through and apparently my copper levels are high…so now he wants ANOTHER blood test and a 24-hour urine sample…sigh…when will this ever end?

Now let’s move onto a NEW FEATURE on my blog!

Basically, I wanted to ‘punch’ up my blog a little more, at the moment it’s just my life, a brief introduction and reviews.

I often have random thoughts that I wish to share, typed “top 10” lists or comparison stuff that, eventually, get abandoned or get archived onto my personal crap. So I decided to include a new section to cover all of them; so let’s welcome my new section…’Feature of the Blog!’ Ok, as a title it’s as crappy as my other ones, but like I said before if you can think of something better be my guest! Let’s open my first feature with a TOP 5...(I've got something better for next time I promise!)

Feature of the Blog

TOP 5 GAMES I WANT FOR THE WII VIRTUAL CONSOLE

Platform: Sega Mega Drive

Genre: Action, Platform

Synopsis: In the fantasy land of Mythgard the people lived in peace until Jardine, the demon king, came to overthrow the world. There were twelve Jewel Masters who brought together their rings of power consisting of Fire, Water, Earth, and Soul, but their battle failed and only four masters survived. Knowing of their ultimate demise, they passed their souls into the twelve now-lost rings, hoping that one day a chosen one would find them and use their combined strength to take one final stand against Jardine.

Jewel Master was never immensely popular, but it was quite a unique concept, it required thought on which rings to use to battle enemies and since there are multiple combinations there’s no telling how many ways there are to defeat this game. It has many “platform” game qualities mixed with well-thought out combat. The graphics were not the best on the system yet had good production values.

I never actually defeated this game (from what I can remember), I think I kept getting to the last level then die from lack of health no many what I tired. The game is known for getting increasingly difficult as you progress. Mum eventually sold the game when she couldn’t finish it either, and despite our best efforts – we haven’t been unable to find this game again in any second hand shops.

It would be great if it was made available on the Wii Virtual Console, as it would save the trouble of me finding it and it would be a cool addition to the virtual console library.

And yet one came forward to claim the right to test his skills and strengths against a city so legendary its name alone struck fear in the hearts of all who heard it spoken.

Like Jewel Master above, Gods was not a ground breaking title, although it has a fan page (much more than what I could find on Jewel Master) it was not the first title that spring to people minds when they words “Sega Mega Drive/Genesis” were said. It was a dark game in nature, the colours in the game favoured black brown and grey, the cover was mainly black and the main character looked like a very muscular gladiator. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good game, it was, from what I can remember. It was a platform game by nature but the main character had to battle some very threatening looking enemies.

There are plenty of platform games currently on the Wii Virtual Console and many more to come from the Sega Mega Drive games library, but this is one title that shouldn’t be skipped.

Synopsis: The story centers on Corona, a boy who has just turned 14 years of age. It is time for him to inherit his father's sword and fight the "monsters" that threaten the human race's very existence, attaining animals to help his quest along the way.

First of, I still have the original copy of this title for the Sega Mega Drive, so the reason for wanting it on the virtual console is not that. I mainly want it for insurance (in case my original copy packs up one day) and for others to experience this great game.

Along side Phantasy Star 3, this was one of the first RPGs I played and loved. At the time I was unaware but nowadays this game is compared to the series “Legend of Zelda”, mainly for the control style and the fact that the lead has a sword, as far as I’m aware nothing else. The game play involves Corona sword fighting his enemies and having animals enchanted his sword with their own special abilities. The story is interesting, the game itself is short and easy but it’s a great game overall. I want this available to download so other can experience this title as well, if Wonderboy in Monster World is available why not this game?

Just to note; Soleil is the European title, Crusader of Centy is the American title and Ragnacenty is the Japanese title.

Synopsis: Wiz and Liz are two wizards who cast spells dumping various items into their gigantic cauldron. Watch them zip across the screen, gathering all the items they can and battle big bosses to save the wabbits (bunny rabbits).

This game is quite hard to describe as it has no set plot and it has many elements from various different game genres. Its side scrolling, it involves various puzzles, battling various large bosses, casting spells, entering various worlds, etc, etc. The game is full of life and colour, despite being hard to describe no one can deny that it’s not cute, I mean come on “wabbits”, all together now: “aaaawwwww”….

There’s plenty in this game to do in your first run, there are also many difficulty settings to keep you coming back for more. It’s a very unique put together title that belongs on the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console, besides this game was made by the same team who produced “Lemmings”, how can you say no?

Genre: Survival Horror

Synopsis: When Jennifer and 3 of her friends are adopted by the Barrows family, they are taken to a strange mansion known as “Clock Tower”. When their adoptive mother, Mary, goes missing within the house, Jennifer sets out to look for her. She then encounters scissorman, a demonic child carrying a huge pair of scissors with every intention to kill her and her friends. Can Jennifer escape alive?

Clock Tower is known for being one of the pioneers for survival horror games; it’s also one of the first to incorporate multiple endings. Clock Tower was first released on the SNES back in 1995; it was later ported to the other consoles after it became very popular; however it was never released outside of Japan. Its sequels have been released worldwide since then, two on the Playstation and the newest one on the PS2. The original game has been fan translated and released as a downloadable ROM for others to experience but I don’t trust ROMs so I haven’t had a chance to experience this title myself.

I know Nintendo are known for being “family friendly” but there’s a big enough fan base for “Clock Tower” to be a big download hit on the virtual console if given the chance. It’s unlike anything that’s available on the virtual console channel at the moment and it’s also unlike any other survival horror game currently avaliable (except for Haunting Ground, which is now out of print).

The only difficulty is that the series was originally owned by Human Entertainment, the company folded in 1999, and although the 4th Clock Tower game (Known as Clock Tower 3) was released by Capcom, I don’t know if they own the rights to the first game as well. I hope so, as I would love to play Clock Tower one day in the future.

This week we journey back into the Survival Horror catalogue and look into the sequel to 2004's title; Obscure.
Certificate: 16+

Rating: 4/5

I haven’t been into survival horror for very long, 6 months at most, but from what I’ve seen so far I’ve highly enjoyed. Most of the survival horror titles I’ve played have been more psychological and centred on impacting fear through that, rather than gruesome monsters and heavy shooting. I bought a second hand copy of Obscure simply out of curiosity after reading a review highly recommending it, thought it was short and had its faults, I did still enjoy it somewhat and it was enough to make me pick up a copy of the sequel. Despite fearing it would be a copy of its predecessor I am glad to say that not only did I enjoy it more that Obscure 1 but am highly looking forward to another sequel (if they have plans to make one).

Obscure 2 takes place 2 years after the prequel, the 6 survivors of the awful events that happened at Leafmore High are now moving on and living their own lives, taking medication to suppress the mutation that affected them during the first game. Now at college, it seems as if history is about to repeat itself as strange purple flowers have started sprouting around the campus, sending students on a ‘high’ and eventually turn them into monsters! Accompanied by new allies, can the survivors of Leafmore High survive once more?

Obscure 2’s plot, like Obscure, is based upon teen horror/slasher movies, so there’s plenty of cheese and horror to go around. Obscure’s plot was quite predictable and lacking at the best of times but Obscure 2 is greatly improved. The beginning is very strong, although the middle part fades slightly it picks up with an unexpected twist towards the climax and the ending leaves a cliffhanger in hopes it’ll return for Obscure 3.

Obscure 2 makes references to drugs, sex, death and suicide – so it’s darker than its predecessor.

You have 8 characters to venture against the darkness with, 3 who are survivors from Obscure 1. The new characters include the Asian twins Mei and Jun who are computer game geeks, Amy who’s also know as ‘Miss Wet T-Shirt of the Month’ and Corey, who is a skater. All characters have their own unique abilities that are all put to use to progress in the game; such as Mei ability to hack into computers, Amy’s skill at decrypting and Sven’s ultra strength to move heavy objects. Most abilities are just used for puzzle solving, this sadly takes away some of the creative fun as some abilities in the previous instalment could be used for combat and other purposes, however they are well performed with the co-operative game play.

The characters have much more of a personality than the previous title; several times they’ll chat amongst themselves as you progress in the game, mostly it’s just chit-chat but other times they offer clues if you’re not sure where to go next. Some of the scripted lines are quite amusing and add to the joy this title gives.

Graphics are detailed enough to see the blood, monsters and gore!

Screenshot courtesy of Eurogamer

The graphics are quite luscious and detailed, the characters are nicely designed and all weapons are quite distinguishable. The characters movements are still quite stiff (especially noticeable when climbing or moving objects) and it’s not without its glitches, but it’s a definite improvement on the previous instalment.

Most character voices are performed well enough, cheesy, but considering the plot is cheesy in itself, the voices fit the game, although some of the returning characters sound quite different to their older counterparts. The music is slightly more prominent than Obscure 1 and it is more fitting to the surroundings, it’s still obvious that the composer was inspired by the likes of Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill Composer) but he adds his own spin to the horror genre.

The mainly selling point of this and the previous game is the 2 player co-operative mode. In any stage during the game, a second player can plug in a second remote and control the second character. Like the previous game most of the time it works very well, controls are easy to get used to and whenever one player goes into another room the other player automatically joins them.

If however you prefer to face the darkness alone, the second character is controlled by A.I. Luckily the computer controlled character handily sees and attacks enemies that you haven’t seen yet or whilst you’re solving a puzzle. But they like to stick very close to your character and in many situations when you have to backtrack they end up getting in the way a lot of the time.

In Obscure 2 acting together is even more vital as many situations and puzzles require you switch between characters such as one to pull the other up onto a high place to escape enemies, this helped built up many “tension” parts of the game and provided more for your friend playing rather than just “following the leader”.

The camera is, unfortunately, poor for both solo and 2 player game modes. The camera likes to stick right behind player one’s arse or pick the worse possible angle in certain rooms. You’re only given a small amount of control over it with the right analogue stick and whatever changes you do make, it doesn’t stick. Sad to say, you’ll the fighting more with the camera than with the enemies themselves!

A great addition to this title is the extensive use of puzzles, apart from shooting mutated monsters this title features some of the most exciting and varied puzzles, I haven’t seen so many since my old PC days when Sierra was at it’s high with titles such as Shivers and King’s Quest. They range from putting pieces of a jigsaw together (such as torn up maps), to word games (used in Mei’s computer hacking ability) and lock picking (Obscure just had you hold down a button, now you must actually work the pin through the lock!). Others include working the more acrobatic characters up onto high platforms and get them safely across to the other side of the room. There’s enough in the game to break up all the battles yet doesn’t overwhelm those who can’t stand to think with their heads neither. They were easily my favourite part of this title. If anything this should be built up more if there was an Obscure 3.

One of my favourite puzzles; Mei's hacking into computers

Screenshot courtesy of Eurogamer

Apart from the puzzles the only factor that makes this title slightly challenging is the lack of healing items and ammo. The previous game became increasingly difficult towards the end as healing items became rare and ammo was hard to find. This has been slightly altered in Obscure 2; healing items will appear in rooms if you happen to have a low supply – handy when you need it the most, not so much if you prefer to store some in your inventory for future boss battles. As for the ammo, it’s still scarce and hard to come by, but more weapons are available in this title, so if one gun is out of ammo you won’t be left to fight with your bare hands.

Like Obscure, the sequel incorporates melee and projectile combat in order to defeat the monsters that go bump in the night, you’ll be saying hello again to the bat and hockey stick, as well as enjoy the new additions such as crossbows and chainsaws. This somewhat takes away the ‘realism’ from the game, as Obscure mainly used items that could be found inside a school. Although Obscure 2 visits more areas, I highly doubt a hospital would keep a shot gun inside a broom closet!

An element that I miss from Obscure is the use of light; the enemy is highly photosensitive in both Obscure 1 & 2, in the prequel the students had to tape flash lights to their guns and aim the light at the enemy in order to kill the harmful creatures. Not only was this very unique and clever but it added some strategy to the combat that other gun based games lack. I was very sad to find that this game play element did not return for Obscure 2, the combat is now purely aim and attack. It’s good news for those who prefer just to get straight down to the killing but it’s such a shame that an element that made Obscure stand out was taken away in the next instalment.

Another element that was prominent in its prequel yet not in this title is replay value. Obscure had multiple difficulty levels, new weapons, costumes and even music videos to unlock. However Obscure 2 has nothing. Bugger all, zilch. No rewards for completing the game. So unless you have a friend to bring along to play every once in a while you won’t be returning to this title in a hurry once you’ve finished it.

Other faults include being able to hit your partner (a stupid feature to add as the computer controlled character is almost always in your way, although it’s funny when the character speaks of annoyance when being hit), the short life span (although longer than Obscure, still not enough for most gamers) and the irritating saving system; which involves observing flowers scattered throughout the game, however they disappear once you’ve use it once. This becomes a problem as the game has many levels that your characters will visit more than once, so after your first visit you’ll have to wait longer to save when you next drop by. It’s even more infuriating as in Obscure 2, if any of your two characters controlling dies you have to start from where you last saved it, quite different to Obscure 1 where you could continue on.

One last error is that no explanation is given to the characters from the first game that fail to appear in Obscure 2, although there is a hidden cut scene you can unlock towards the end of the game that features them – it raises more questions than answers any, the way to unlock it is not obvious and you can easily complete the game without knowing its there.

Overall this is a very worthy sequel, highly enjoyable and great for both single players and for those who wish to bring on a friend. If you’ve never played the first game I recommend getting a copy before purchasing this, if it’s just for the 2 player action then you can probably get away with just reading the character bios to get the jest of Obscure 1 plot. It’s a very good buy, especially when a brand new copy is only £20 – it’s worth every penny!

First of all let me apologise for last week as none of the links I used wanted to play the Utada song longer than 24 hours, so I gave up finding another link after a week. But the new album 'Heart Station' is out now and diffiently worth a listen! You can now purchase via CDJapan.co.jp or online from itunes!

This week I have something different. Its not a new track, nor a J-pop track, it's good ol Brit pop! It's from one of my favourite albums of all time and from a highly talented band.

I have to say that I'm well quite happy at the moment. Well, more like everytime I open up the MSN spaces status.

I'm liking the new updates, especially the "counter" of how many views your msn space has had in a day, which is the main contribution to my small dose of happiness! Several times I've logged onto my msn space page and see double figures of views I've had on my space! Ok it's not been more than 12 and I've had no comments but it's nice that people stop by! Thanks to all those who are nosy enough to look at my blog! The only update I don't like is the limted text...annoying as some fo the reviews I wanted to publish had to be removed since it was too much for the entry to handle!

It's been to long since my last update and hopefully people will be stopping by more often now that I have posted a new blog!
Just so people know, my blog usually comes in various sections: an opening (like this one), my personal life update, a review section on various things and lyrics for the song I've upload for the blog. In the past I've tried to separate the sections with different coloured texts, different fonts or try to put big gaps between them. Now I've decided to put large titles! Well originally it was banners but highlighted titles will do for now. And I've named each section too (some badly) but hopefully obvous to what they are.

So let's get started shall we?

Rants, Rants, Rants!

Let's start off this blog with a few complaints shall we? Or, as "Hey! Answerman" on Anime News Network site likes to open up with recently, "What I'm currently fed up with"

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AND MUSIC IN OCTOBER: Seriously, I've seen a house in Dartford with a large Snowman and Reindeer in her front garden, a huge infaltable Father Chrismtas in the Bexleyheath shopping centre, the radio playing "All I Want For Christmas Is You"...ALL WEEKS BEFORE HALLOWEEN HAD PASSED. ARE WE JUMPING THE GUN A BIT HERE?! THE WORLD'S GONE BONKERS! I mean even in November it's a bit dramatic!

NO ONE NOT KNOWING WHAT THEY WANT FOR CHRISTMAS: Ok, maybe a little hypocritical considering my previous complaint but with multiple postal strikes going on and the fact that this year has come and gone so quickly - I want to try and get presents out fo the way now if I can. I only have a few days off in December and don't really want to spend them wandering around shopping centers. But people saying "Oh, it's weeks until Christmas! Don't ask me now!" and "I dunno" isn't really helping...

THE SPICE GIRLS: I was once a fan back when I was a little naive girl; I worshiped them, knew their dance routines and bought there CDs, now I've moved onto better things and know they are simply cheesy pop now but seriously, their reunion is superfical, all the pictures of them are centered on Posh who I can't stand as she has no intelligence or talent, and considering there are a British pop group - most of their tour dates are in America! Can anyone say "Sell Out" or "Ching Ching"?

Alright I'll shut up now! Let's move on...

Life Update

God a lots happened! Well it's doesn't feel like it but I tend to add bulletin points on anything major happening in my life to a draft page and it seems to have pilled up since I've last updated!

Let's start with me; I'm a lot better than I was in my last entry, recovering slowly from my Salmonella poisening and I'm now off the tablets (yay!). Still not quite right, I've seen any of my mates at all, spend most of my weekends at home looking after my currently very unwell mum (painful knee, long story, but has been refered to hospital, and since her job as a teacher requires her to stand up it's not helping it!) and work during the week. Since I'm still unsure of when I'm likly to fully recover, I've decided not to go to the BAFTAS. I was invited by my work to go since we were nominated for several awards (we didn't make the final cut but we were planning to go for the hell of it anyways) but it's in 2 weeks time, and I didn't really want to go is my stomach was acting up that day. Plus it was on a Sunday night, in London, and I had to get up early for work the next morning anyways so...in the end I turned down my invite. But I hope everyone else in my office has a brillant time!

At work I have been trained on the new AVID system we are currently installing for GMTV, I've been trained on "Access" and "Assist", I also have a login which is counted as an "Administrator", meaning I can do anything I want on the system! Mhahaha! I really enjoyed the trainign actually, I like learning new things as it gets my brain working, plus my boss said I did really well; praising me which I did appriciate since my confidence in myself at the moment is minimal. I've added my training to my CV, I hope to properly start looking for another job by next year. I've been there for 2 years now, I'm 19 years old, I need to move on and explore new horizons. But first! My health needs to be tip top shape! So I'm ok where I am at the moment.

Another thing relating to me is my car! My poor bank account has suffered to repair my poor neglected car! I had problems with it in the being of September, and since I needed a new tax disc and MOT by October, so I got my mum's friend (whose used to be a machanic) to take a look at it. Apparently it had a major oil leak which he wasn't prepare to fix since it would take ages to locate where it came from and to fix. Since I love my car, I decided to take it to a garage. The saw the cause and small other errors, the result? £580! I thought it was worth it, but then my tension belt busted when I tried to drop Daniel off at our father's (I broke down at the roundabout, bloking a lot of angry rugby fans since it was the night of the finals and a lots of long red buses!!) and had to call the RAC to help me! That costed another £50 plus £180 for my tax disc...at least my car's fine now...I think...hasn't broken down since so that's a good sign!

All my close friends and boyfriend have returned to university, but are back about 2 weeks before Chrismtas which I'm looking forward too. I'm aiming to be well enough to have an alcoholic drink on Christmas (fingers crossed!). I plan to visit my friend Katy and Andy before they return but might not be able to. Last I saw of Katy was on her birthday at the beginning of September. I got her some Transformers DVDS (free from work), the Transformers soundtrack as she loved the movie and a Sora (Kingdom Hearts 2) figurine, which I originally ordered her for Christmas but cancelled it and bought off ebay for her b-day. I only saw her for a few hours but she seemed to love her prezzies. We've e-mailed a few times, as I didn't get to see her before she went back to uni which was a shame, she seems happy in her new home (living with boys) and partying like there's no tomorrow! Hopefully when I am fully recovered I'll drive down to her place and catch up on some serious fun!

I manage to see Andy before he left for uni, I booked a day off and so I stayed over. I wasn't much company considering I was [feeling] quite crappy at the time, but it was worth it in the end. We've kept contact over MSN and he seems happy that I'm getting better. Hopefully 2008 will be a better year for us since my illness has been quite a strain on us!

Another friend I managed to see was Landa! I took a day off to see her too since we hadn't properly seen each other since Christmas! We only had a meal together in a chinese place but it was wonderful to see her doing well and happy at uni, I plan to see her for lunch next week and more often then on! Her birthday was recently too, I tried to seen her some flowers and a balloon for her birthday to her door, but unfortunetly the flower company screwed up (they lost my purchase details) so I was extremely disappointed! But I was refuned and I plan to make it up to her at Christmas.

My brother has started college in Saint Lukes in Sidcup, and seems to be generally happy! He likes the classes (has changed one of his subjects but he's a smart boy!), he has had an eye on a girl who lives in an evil pink house round the corner from where I live! But it seems she's a player and a bitch! So now is not only the pink house evil but the people inside it are aswell! Oh well, I'm sure Daniel will be fine! He has his family backing him up all the way! (That includes moi...)

I don't think there's much else to say....well some of the above events go intoi a little more detail but you get the jest!

Before we get to the reviews, I had a situation occur when I tried to upgrade my phone via my mobile network, Orange, they really infuriate me. I typed it up because I couldn't really take it out on Orange at the time and wanted to get it off my chest. I guess I've posted it up on here in hope others who've experienced something simular would give advice or let me know if they did so I can know that I'm not the only one getting screwed over. If you're not interested, feel free to scroll past it.

Orange Complaint

I currently have a N70 phone, paying £37 for 240 minutes and 170 texts, I got this phone on January 2006 and the contract was for 6 months. Nowadays, people would look at my bill and say; "What a rip off!" but back then they had no "Dolphin" or "Raccoon" plans on offer and it was a good deal at the time.

In August 2007, I decided I wanted to upgrade my phone, after browsing many phones the Samsung G600 drew my attention. I went to my local Orange shop and was pleased when trying it out in the shop, so decided to upgrade to the G600. However, apparently there was a problem with my account which they couldn’t fix in the shop, I was told to call Orange direct and upgrade via them.

On the phone, eventually the problem was fixed (apparently instead of saying my account was due for an upgrade, it said it was faulty). I picked a dolphin £30 per month contract and requested the G600; however I was told that I would have to pay £100 for the phone. When I asked why I had to pay so much for a phone, he said that it’s a new model and despite that the monthly Orange magazine stating that it’s free on £35+ contracts, he said that increasing my contract payment would not make a difference. He eventually convinced me to go for the U600 (which was free) and nicely, gave me an extra 100 minutes talk time. Which was fair enough, however literally minutes later after hanging up, I log onto myspace and see advertisements for the same phone, available on 2 contracts, both dolphin, both for the same lengh of time I agreed to, one paying £5 less than what I agreed yet only had to pay £50 for the phone, and another paying £5 more contract wise and yet get the phone for FREE!

I called Orange again, speaking to a different person from before, asking why I wasn’t offered the same deal as what was advertised, “That’s for new customers only” he stated, annoyed, I hung up and waited for my new phone. I disliked the touch sensitive buttons and the phone in general so I called customer services and asked for it to be returned.

No further problems occurred until I called a week later, after the phone was returned.

I looked around more for phones during the time I waited for the Orange return bag to be sent to me, since I didn’t want to pay £100 for the Samsung, I asked if the Nokia N73 was available, despite being a much older phone than the G600 (at least 6 months), the price for the phone was £120! I asked why was it so much for an older phone when it clearly states in the Orange monthly magazine that the phone is free on £25+ contracts and I already stated that I wanted the £30 a month contract – surely I applied, but no. I didn’t quality for a free N73 since I was “upgrading” my contract, not getting a new one which is was the price quoted in the magazine is referring to. Even though it doesn't state so in the brochure.

I told the woman that my current contract is under my mum’s name (I was too young to have a contract in my name when I got it last year, I was 17) and that, now 19, the new contract would be in MY name, plus it’s completely different to my current contract, but no yet again, it still counts as an “upgrading contract”…so no free phone. None of this was mentioned in the magazine, or in the shop. I was instead offered a different free phone, also Nokia, but was no where near the capacity of my current phone.

Pissed off, I decided to go to the Orange shop the next morning and complain.

At the shop, I threatened to leave after explaining briefly what has happened. The nice people I spoke to stated that I was on a low “brand”, meaning that I haven’t gone over my limited use of free minutes/texts enough to qualify for some free upgrades to more expensive phones. The example the employee gave was that he spends easily £200 a month on his bill; hence he’s a brand 5, so he can get more expensive phones for free. I have NEVER heard of this and was again irritated that another Orange customer service employee has yet given ANOTHER excuse why I couldn’t have the phone I want. Why should I have to pay £200 a month, presumably for a long period of time, resulting in at least £1000 charges just to qualify for a £100 phone??

He eventually offered a deal of a free Samsung G600 with 500 minutes, unlimited texts, £35 a month, 10% off the line price and £8 off a month if I trade in my old phone, the catch it that it's a new contract, meaning new number. A good deal as it may seem however I had to complain and threaten to leave and speak to numerous people just to be offered a good deal.

So it’s become clear from this that to me that:

A) Despite being an Orange customer for over 6 (possibly more) years, it means nothing to these people. I have never complained before, always paid my bills on time (via direct debit) and had never had problems with Orange before, until now.

B) My N70 contract was only for 6 months, I’ve had it for over 20 months so far, meaning they’ve had £740 at least out of me, much more than expected when I originally signed the contract, this is 7 times more than what I was asked to pay for the phones I wanted…

C) All 3 Orange people I spoke to regarding why I couldn’t have the phone all gave different reasons, like they are all prepared with a story to why I have to pay extra, fleecing me of my money. None of them add up together and some (mainly the people I spoke to over the phone) didn’t make sense!

D) I do not appreciate feeling ‘pressured’ to use all my minutes/texts up just to get a more expensive phone. I chose the X amount of minutes because it was what I use that doesn’t break the barrier of “free”, if I did use 500 minutes and 1000 texts each month I would have a plan that compensates that!

I felt reluctant to stay with Orange for another 18 months, and I feel that Orange does not appreciate it’s long term customers, which is what they should be more concerned about. New customers can come and go, whatever good deals you flash in front of them, if you keep your currently customers happy you’re going to have a long term incoming of cash anyway!

I was disappointed and angry, so I started looking at other mobile networks to look at their deals as well as read people's opinions on that company, after talking to several collagues at work, they all stated that all companies go by the "go overboard with minutes/texts for a free expensive phone", and I've really not had any problems with Orange until I tried to upgrade via phone. I accepted the contract in the end, and after a week I cancelled the contract and sent back the phone since I was unhappy with both. So the uphill struggle for one phone wasn't worth it in the end. But it has made me see Orange's true colours...they don't value their long term customers enough, I hope that my next attempt at upgrading (which won't be till I find a new phone I like) will be a more pleasent experience.

  The WahWah Views

Right, with that over with tt's time for the reviews section once again, now you maybe wandering about the name of this section ^^
Well you see, my littlest brothers (currently 4 and 5 years of ages) called me "Wahwah" when they were both learning to speak (because apparently 'Sarah' is too hard to say!), and since the reviews are basically mine, so hence the title. It's a working progress and may change but for now, let's get down to the reviews! Remember than you can also view more reviews from my on my amazon profile: click here!

Today we have 3 relatively new alternative rock albums (2007 is a good year for rock!) and 1 not-so new Survival Horror games that I've recently discovered, played and loved. I also had 2 movie reviews and another game review - but I shall post those on another blog (which you'll probably find above this one!)
One of the reviews, Haunting Ground, was promised before and is now here! The other review promised, Final Fantasy 12 has been delayed yet again, simply because I can't be bothered at the moment! Sorry! And if you were hoping I'd review the U600 or the G600, you can find them on my amazon reviews, the link is above. Anyways, here goes....

Artist: The Birthday Massacre
Album Title: Walking with Strangers
Genre: Symphonic Rock
Rating: 4/5

Like most fans I’ve seen on sites such as Amazon, I feel in love with ‘The Birthday Massacre’ after hearing their god-sent album; ‘Violet’. Not only was it original but it was an enchanting mixed with brilliant blending of vocals and instruments. It was a work of art! I only discovered the band earlier in the year and was thrilled to hear that a new album was due for release in late October. After a few listens, I’ve grown to love this album. It may not be as “OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HEAR MORE FROM THIS BAND!” as ‘Violet’ made me and many others feel, but it’s a brilliant follow up!

The album starts on a high with “Kill the Lights”, lyrics referring to fairy tales plus with the catchy rhythm was a nice blend. The album then slowly declines with ‘not so memorable’ songs until “Red Stars” (the lead single from this album), a heavy ‘head bang’ worthy song and good choice for single. Those who liked “Blue” from ‘Violet’ will love this track as well. Again the album goes down with more bland-ish songs until “To Die For”, a remake of one of their earlier works, there’s something about the song that’s intriguing and pulls you in. Chibi’s vocals are strong as well. The end of the album remains strong, and goes out with a bang with “Movie”, probably the slowest song I’ve heard from them and the most captivating. Chibi’s vocal again shine through.
The first thing I noticed about the album was Chibi’s voice, she sounds different to her previous works (I had checked to make sure it was the same vocalist at one point!) She’s also not as experimental with her vocals than she was in ‘Violent’, in her previous works she whispers, growls, imitates a sweet girl persona, deepens her voice to bring out a dark quality to the song – in ‘Walking with Strangers’ she sounds the same on most of the tracks. But luckily the band and the lyrics on most of the songs keep the album strong and the rhythm going throughout the album. But at least she’s kept what I love most about her; the fact that she doesn’t ‘belt’ out her voice (like Amy Lee from Evanescene or Sharon Den Adel from Within Temptation), because she doesn’t need too. Her voice is prominent anyways! Her charm still sparkles in this album!
For those new to ‘The Birthday Massacre’, I recommend borrowing a copy of ‘Violet’ first, just to introduce you to the wonder that is them. But those who are no stranger to them, and are expecting the band to grow, develop and change a little from their previous works – this album strikes gold!

Artist: Nightwish
Album Title: Dark Passion Play
Genre: Symphonic Power Metal
Rating: 4/5

Since the firing of their previous main vocalist; Tarja Trunen, a lot of talk of who will be the next front woman and if the band can still live after her departure. I can safely say that after listening to this album, Nightwish still has a long and wonderful career ahead of them. This album proves with Tarja was not the force behind Nightwish, but in fact the very talented Tuomas Holopainen (keyboardist and songwriter) plus the efforts on those around him will prove the world Nightwish are, in fact, back!

“The Poet and the Pendulum”, opening track to the album, is the common ‘over 10 minute’ track on the album, powerful as always and like a combination of 4 songs combined with poetry. The next track, “Bye Bye Beautiful” is a hard hitting, heavy number full of attitude similar to “Wish I Had an Angel” from their previous album, “Once”. However the move from Annette’s voice to Marco’s isn’t as smooth as “Wish I had An Angel”. “Amaranth”, the lead single from this album, is the most mainstream track from Nightwish and probably the best deliverance of Annette’s vocals. It’s quite an upbeat and well produced. The album kicks into “angry” mode again with more heavy tracks such as “Cadence of her Last Breath”, until “Eva” – a charity single released only in Finland and lead many fans that the band had gone soft! Easily the sweetest and conventional ballads they’ve performed so far. The album then hits the ‘experimental’ approach with “Sahara”, an Egyptian inspired melody and “The Islander” which sounds like a camp fire song! The album goes from strength to strength and ends on a sweet note in “Meadows of Heaven”. On the whole it’s quite a dark yet experimental album, very much worth the wait.
I was quite surprised what little Annette actually sung on the album compared to Tarja on the previous studio works. The vocals are split between her and the guitarist: Marco Hietala who has provided some vocals for Nightwish in the past, but he proves he can stand on his own two feet in many of the tracks! And instead of just shouting like previous works, he has a very strong voice that over-shadows Annette when singing with her on some tracks and he carries the songs brilliantly.
Now, the new main vocalist, I’ve seen many website boards and debates comparing Tarja and Annette with each other, many who have sided with Tarja are accused of “living in the past” and being die-hard fans. And those who prefer Annette are charged with deafness and being stupid. So what do I think? I’m afraid that my feelings are mixed towards Annette, Tarja comes out on top in my opinion. No I’m not a die-hard fan of Tarja (though I am interested to hear her up-coming solo album) and I believe I’ve given Annette a fair chance, with multiple listens of the new album and watching videos of her performing old Nightwish songs on YouTube. Tarja brought originally to Nightwish with her operatic vocals, something that wasn’t seen in the metal world till she arrived. She has a powerful voice and brought forth emotions in all the songs she perform that so far, Annette has failed to. In fact Annette looks very uncomfortable and just purely ‘sings’ rather than performs the old material, which may be argued that she has only been with the band for a short while. She has a nice voice, but Nightwish have lost what made them so unique and prominent compared to other metal bands with a female vocalist. Annette reminds me of Within Temptation, sorry, but she’s not original. Also, when Annette reaches the high notes in the album, more often than not, she actually ‘screeches’. It’s rather unpleasant to hear, and seeing her in the new music videos, she doesn’t own the stage at all and seems misplaced.
However, on some of the tracks she does show glimpse of her hidden charm, and I’ve heard segments of her voice in her old band: Alyson Avenue, and she performs very well. So in conclusion, I think we just haven’t seen what she’s capable of. I’m sure in future works she’ll find her footing in the band and bring them into a new, refreshing era.
Any Nightwish fan should give this album at least 3 listens from start to end, since it takes some getting used to, anyone new to Nightwish – get the “Highest Hopes” compilation, the last album with Tarja’s vocals, and also contains some of their best and earliest works.

Artist: Apocalyptica
Album Title: Worlds Collide
Genre: Alternative Metal, Cello Metal
Rating: 3.5/5

In the beginning, Apocalyptica started out as cover band, their first album; “Plays Metallica” featured covers of famous Metallica songs using only string instruments such as cellos and violins. They were, and are still extremely original, since then they’ve grown into their own style with added guitars. After 8 albums they are a force to be reckoned with! Mainly filled with instrumentals, they have delivered some heart pounding, emotionally driven melodies and also had professional vocalist from other rock bands perform songs for their more recent albums. After a year of silence, they are back and heavier than before!

“I’m Not Jesus”, sung by ‘Corey Taylor’ (lead singer of Slipknot/Stone Sour) is the first single from the album and a very strong one at that. The lyrics are quiet dark and angry – something that Corey is no stranger to. He’s clear in words and delivers well, the band stands strong beside him as well, in short – great choice for single. ‘Till Lendemann’, the male vocalist for Rammstein provides a German cover of ‘David Bowie’s “Heroes”, known as “Helden” on this album. A slow paced song but ‘Till Lendemann’s voice itself is enough to draw anyone into it and out the other end (personally I think Till’s involvement with the album was a very good idea!). ‘Adam Gonteir’, from the grunge band “Three Days Grace” sings “I Don’t Care”, despite my liking for his voice and his impressive vocal range, the song isn’t as strong as the others. The verses and lyrics are enough to keep the listener intrigued but the chorus is bland and uninspired, and unfortunately doesn’t recover for the rest of the track. ‘Cristina Scabbia’, the front woman from ‘Lacuna Coil’ provides a stunning performance for “SOS (Anything But Love)”, a song about an abusive relationship. Though I don’t listen to her stuff in Lacuna Coil, she really out-does herself in this song and puts forth the emotional strain and hurt of a violent relationship can be. Best track on the album!
The instrumental tracks are as strong as they have been, but regrettably don’t provide anything new from their previous work, plus they are not as memorable or bring forth the same emotions compared to “Path Volume 1”, “Hope” and “Romance”. In the end, this album doesn’t shine as much as their previous work, but it’s good to see them back in action! Any rock fan or Apocalyptica fan should own this in their CD collection.

The game begins with Fiona, a female teenage collage student waking up wearing nothing but a sheet inside an animals cage in an underground basement that is covered in blood, dirt and shadows. As she escapes her cage and explores the mansion she has woken up in, she learns of the death of her parents in a car accident and that she has inherited a gothic castle, all through the encounters of the residents inside it. However inside these dark walls lies a sinister secret and the residence don’t seem to want Fiona to leave…

When it comes to games from the horror genre, the most notable titles will be Resistant Evil, Silent Hill and Clock Tower. They are well known for being made into films (regardless of whether it’s a box office bomb or not) and for having generic zombies hordes trying to kill you. Horror games themselves fall under 2 categories: the Survival Horror that involves usage of guns, crossbows and various other weaponry against creatures of the undead kind. The other category is the type where the main character has to fend for themself without the use of a weapon and solve puzzles, Haunting Ground is found under the latter.

Unlike series such as Resident Evil, Fiona cannot defend herself with kick-arse weaponry, the game is based on the player using their wits to solve puzzles to progress in the game and hide from your pursuer using hiding spots located throughout the game; such as underneath beds, inside wardrobes and in the bushes. The number of hiding places decreases as you proceed further in the game. The system works so that if you use a hiding space too frequently the pursuer will catch onto your plans and find you; hence you have to run away again. You can also use evasion points that can distract or disable an enemy for a short period of time, these only work once so they are not to be used lightly.

Fiona isn’t alone against the darkness though, a unique feature to aid the player is a white German Shepard called Hewie, rescued by Fiona near the beginning of the game he helps Fiona through puzzles and combat. Using the appropriate controls you can give commands to the dog as well as praise him (if he behaves well) or scold him (if he disobeys). Hewie is extremely realistic in his movements and re-actions to his surroundings. He wags his tail, he growls at enemies, he plays dead, the whole lot! He’s a warm welcome factor to this game that I have no seen anywhere else, and not only is he Fiona’s only chance for survival but he also provides the heart of the game, unless you hate dogs with a passion Hewie will warm all the player’s hearts.

As well as Hewie, Fiona’s only other chance of defending herself is via kicking (which lacks range and power) and ‘alchemy compounds’ that she can find inside the castle, or make them herself using a synthesiser, which are located throughout the game. Items include equipment that can increase the damage she inflicts, accessories that increase her stamina or herbs to heal her whilst exploring the castle. Items are limited (and several are hidden to the naked eye so require Hewie to have a look around), plus the synthesizer is extremely difficult to use, so saving often (by examining clocks located in the castle) is a must.

Daniella likes to chase you with a shard of glass...nice lady!

Graphics are one of the highest points in the game, detail to the characters and their surroundings is remarkable, some of the best on the system. The details to the costumes, the facial expressions, the cut scenes – all are well thought and look fluid. The game pulls of the “dark and dreary” gothic castle and surroundings effectively. Also in gameplay, when exploring the castle there are no load times in between rooms, its all joined as one, so not only does it feel realistic but those who get frustrated with loading times will happily embrace this game!
The music also adds the to “haunting” atmosphere, adding ‘breathy’ sounds to the backing track and various other effects like that make the soundtrack rather effective, and not too distracting from the game’s performance. The surprising factor also is that all the characters have a British accent! And very well performed ones too! All the voice actors are extremely talented and are very convincing at either being the terrified Fiona or the psycho killers.

Fiona is chased by 4 individuals, all representing different areas of the castle. Though their goals to hunt and kill Fiona are the same, the way they chase her and attack are unique to each enemy.
The first and most frequent chaser shown on promotional materials for the game is Debilitas; a bulky man with massive strength but with a mentality of a child. He sees Fiona as a life sized doll and tries to pursue her. The next is Daneillia, the castles beautiful maid and cook, she moves very machine like as she is a "man made" human who lacks the ability to feel and cannot bear children. Out of jealously and her manic mood swings she chases Fiona. The next is Riccardo, the man in a brown monk's outfit with a gun, his obsession with her is due to him wanting to borrow Fiona's "womb". And last but not least is Lorenzo, a mysterious old man who claims to want to help poor Fiona out of this nightmare, but does he have other ideas?

When Fiona is being pursued by a chaser, the background music will first mute, to warn of an enemy nearby, and when the chaser sees her the music will dramatically change to a high-tempo fast paced music that is intended to increase the tension and fright the player is feeling. Fiona has little health and defence, which unfortunately is not shown by any ‘health bar’, the same goes for Hewie. As Fiona continuously runs her stamina drops and getting hit lowers her health, you must read her physical reaction (such as her clucking her stomach) to see how much more she can take. If left untreated she and Hewie will eventually die, obviously leading to a “Game Over”. The game over screen will send a chill down any player's spine, especially is Fiona is killed by any of the stalkers, after the screen fades to red you can 'hear' the killer 'doing' things to Fiona body...if that is not enough to frighten you I don't know what is!

A unique feature used to project “fear” into the player is the “Panic Mode”; as Fiona wonders the castle various objects may scare her, and the chaser will also cause her heart race as well. As her fear increases, the screen becomes fuzzy, graining and greyscale, making it harder to see what’s on screen. The controller will rumble to represent her heart beat, Fiona will also begin to stumble and her voice increases in pitch when calling out to Hewie. As she becomes completely overcome with fear, the screen almost becomes impossible to make out your surroundings and Fiona runs frantically with little control given to the player. In this state is where Fiona is the most fragile, she can die in just one hit in this condition and she can also trip and become too paralyzed with fear to move making her even more vunerable and having to rely on Hewie to distract her pursuer. Though items can help and she gradually calms herself down over a period of time, the whole process itself makes gameplay rather interesting and unique. It also implants fear in the players hearts as they try to gain control over the poor woman. Though it can also be the cause of some frustration if killed several times in her panic state, overall it’s very lifelike and well thought-out.

A Screenshot of Fiona in Panic Mode

Puzzles are the key to moving forward in each section of the castle, ranging from deactivating traps to opening secret passage ways. Some of the most thought-provoking puzzles look hard at first glance but become simple after the solution is uncovered, making multiple plays less daunting but also less challenging. However in your first play through when you’re mostly likely to take your time with the particular puzzle, you are left wide open to being attacked by the stalker. Since there are limited hiding places in the game it falls into a deadly pattern of: being stalked, running all the way back to a hiding place you haven’t already used, losing your chaser, walking back to the puzzle and before you can attempt it your manic friend is back for more! Though working out how to dodge enemies is easy enough, it eventually becomes tiresome and more like a “chore” rather than a part of the game. Several times I ended up switching off the game since I couldn’t get rid of the stalker long enough to progress further into the game.

Another ‘not so obvious’ fault in the game becomes apparent after a few hours of intensive playing. The A.I of the chasers themselves are set to ‘unjust’ for a large portion of the game.
The booklet provided with the game states that if you misuse a hiding space, the chaser will realise your tactic and eventually find you, therefore proving that particular hiding space no longer useful. However it seems in some cases that this doesn’t always apply, in some situations the A.I of the chaser is randomised, giving you an unfair advantage. For example during the first chapter, I hid in the bath tub & behind the shower curtain 4 times in a row, yet Debilitas never found me once. Yet later on I hid in a completely new space and he found Fiona straight away. This appears more apparent later on and more new rules are invented making the game at times impossible to hide and eventually either face them and fight (sometimes leading to death) or keep running until they give up. This just leads the player to find little reason behind it and most of the time saved on the memory card as wasted.

The reply value is pleasable as after the first play you gain loads of extras to play around with, but also at the risk of the fear and tension from the first play being abolished, as ‘triggers’ to when the current pursuer approaches and tactics they use become easy to spot and makes the game predictable. But the game does have 4 endings to uncover that have different requirements between them, and unlocking all four unlocks nearly all the hidden extras.

A secret room is unlocked after first play, as well as a “hard mode” where your opponents are swifter in movement and fiercer in combat. The secret room allows the player to see in-game content; such as unlockable costumes, for both Fiona and Hewie, including a sexy cowgirl outfit for our heroine and a stuffed plush dog padding for Hewie. Also concept art, a cut scenes show reel, character models, soundtrack files and a mini game are available in the secret room too. Some content is unlocked depending which ending you achieve or which version you play.

Before Haunting Ground I have never touched a Survival Horror Game, so I cannot compare the game to the likes of Clock Tower and Silent Hill, but this game provides good reply value and original gameplay that I have not seen in any other title in my collection. Despite the flaws I really enjoyed this game, it made my heart race and determined to unlock everything! Whether you’re a long term fan of survival horror or a complete newbie like me I recommend this, I found it hard at first since all the games I tend to play are the kind where the main character can defend him/herself, but this was a welcome challenge and offered many fun elements as well as suspense. Because of this game, I’m looking forward to trying out other survival horrors available, especially one’s that have similar game mechanics to this.

  Song of the Blog

Ok, this title, well usually we see "song of the week" or "album of the week" on music sites so why not "Song of the Blog"? ...Come up with something better if you don't like it!

My song choice for this blog is, did you guess it yet?, The Birthday Massacre. Having hearing their new album I felt compelled to add their first album; "Nothing and Nowhere" to my Christmas List and after seeing a fansite provide a download for a cover they did a while back, I had to add it to my itunes library and to my blog! It's a good cover and well produced. Though the file may not be best quality - its good enough! Enjoy!
